So why is PGP garbage? It's more about the spirit of posting PGP textwalls on an imageboard than the crypto itself. PGP textwalls are an eyesore and they're rude: you're basically excluding people from participating to your gossip while at the same time poking their eyes out with pseudorandom-looking encrypted garbage! PGP is just barely above randomly generated floodspam. Hell maybe shitspammer could make a script to generate spam that looks like PGP messages just to prove my point.

The legitimate uses of PGP include giving out login info, or an invite code, etc. This legitimate aspect is the main reason why I'm not suggesting an outright ban. Just collapse it by default. And for the convenience of PGPfags maybe add a "Show all PGP" toggle.

If you don't wanna implement this, no biggie. Because I'm aware it may be more effort than it's worth. Especially if PGP posting stops altogether, on its own, which it might.

I disagree, the user created boards shouldn't feel like their own self contained boards. Right now it's good, it's basically higher quality threads that are not in free, but are basically /free/ type threads. When you list all the boards it would make the image board feel so dead and empty. Also it would influence which user created boards would be getting replies. Admin, if you end up making a stat page, only count the stats for all the listed boards including /All/ and just have the posts from user created boards add to the total count of /All/.

Doing that is somewhat anti tor. The default way the board is matters the most. If everyone was able to filter out threads themselves no one would complain and everyone would still be looking at those pics that were in /free/. Anti tor is probably too strong because boards like phichannel have that option, but you get the sentiment. lambda should be usable on the very initial load without any extra effort on the users behalf.

I suggest setting "resize: both" for only the textarea element on both non-floating and floating.

You basically have to deter him by denying of what he wants: annoy you and disrupt the site.

Unless you want to compromise anonymity or introduce some kind of PoW to post (and then probably lose posters as a result) I think the only solution is a very soy solution I once suggested on nano: have a confirmation queue, meaning that posts by default are not directly visible until you confirm them. This is something boorus more or less do already.

It'd work something like this:
* Posts on index, catalog, recent and threads would be hidden more or less like PGP encrypted messages are, you can just use the hidden checkbox trick to show/hide them, and make it clear they are unconfirmed by graying them out and having some sort of data- attribute indicating it.
* In the case of images, you could just not show them and links could be redacted as well by default until you confirm it to ensure no see pee is being shared in here.
* In case you decide to "enjoy life" like endonigger, you could still show posts that have been unconfirmed for more than a day. You could also not do this for posts than containt images and/or links, just in case they're see pee.
* Regarding /All/, they should also be hidden but you should also be less spoon-sorty and have everything except trash and spam listed in there. In the case of /All2/, you could just make everything visible by default except maybe, again, unconfirmed posts with images and/or links. /All/ should have every legitimate post, including meta ones or else you'd force people to wade through the /All2/ trash.
* You could maybe do like phichannel does with recent, allow people to whitelist/blacklist specific boards and also add another checkbox to show unconfirmed posts by default on /All/. /All2/ should always display everything except the aforementioned exception.
* If you want to get fancy, you could maybe have some PoW to allow "voting" to display unconfirmed posts in case you decide to "enjoy life". If there's more than a certain threshold it would be "soft-confirmed" and shown, as opposed to "hard-confirmed" if done by a janny.

My point was, it's possible to devise a captcha that will deter spammers, at least until one of them is determined enough. Since there is nothing to gain by spamming you, changing your captcha once it gets broken should be enough. Again, current spam-rate could easily be removed by mods, if it was needed.
In any case, the timeout is stupid since it blocks legitimate posters more than spammers.

Historical poster is a human being (or as far as we are able to tell, an equivalent to that), so he does obey the laws of human action. If you spend enough time here you can notice his patterns change, trends and ideas in his posts evolve, his creativity and motivation fluctuating. It's probably sunk-cost fallacy and those small pieces of engagement he gets that serve to validate his habit.

As we don't have his home address, there is no solution to historical poster spam. Only moderation and silent dismissal. Everything else serves to validate his spam, just take a look at his activity. Ever since he got mentioned in this thread, it rebounded with dozens of posts in the top 3-5 threads in /All/, which might last till tomorrow when it will return to the normal levels of activity.

P.S. One technological solution does occur to me. Find the sources for historicalfag's images and implement a spam filter that detects "X is really X" posts and make them go through a manual mod approval process, but I'm not too fond of this idea, as it'll take away lambdaplusjs's transparency. Maybe a /temp/ board could solve that.
